Happy Two Year Anniversary to Meghan + Alex two years ago at ARIA here in Minneapolis. Meghan and her mother kept the design simple with ivory linens that offset Meghan’s amazing blush gown. The florals by Wisteria Designs were a show stopper as well. Thank you to Molly, who was with Bellagala that year, the following gorgeous photos are hers!
Well, well – 1 year ago today I got to be part of Michelle & Dan’s lovely winter wedding at ARIA. Michelle did a great job of finding fun ‘frozen’ (before the movie) details to set the mood for this glitzy wedding reception. They were a very sweet and sincere couple – and this weekend I’m happy to be welcoming them back to ARIA to They have some great images on Fishtale’s website too!
More of the pro photos here.
This wedding was different than any other I was part of in 2013. It was my very first gay wedding here in Minnesota after the amendment was rejected and gay marriage was legalized! Our entire team from ARIA was so proud to be part of this reception for Chris & Jake.
They worked with Event Lab to bring in furniture and the beaded chandeliers you see hanging from the catwalks. But of course, the ‘awe factor’ was the aerialist performers during dinner! So far, I have yet to do another wedding to bring in aerial performers…but I’m so ready to have them back! It was fantastic, the guests were blown away!
Looking back at our first full wedding season at ARIA we handful of event management hiccups. However, On June 22nd, 2013 – everything seemed to go perfectly! The client’s were great to work with from beginning to end and we had a fabulous coordinator to work along side with that day. When people ask me for advice on where to spend money for their wedding – and where they could ‘go easy’, I always refer to this wedding. The clients Erin & Derek did it all perfectly.
What they did right:
1. They took advantage of ARIA’s 3 story ceiling by adding chandeliers over their head table that dropped from the catwalks. This focused the attention on the head table and brought your eye up into the large space.
2. They didn’t go crazy with decorating the guests tables, they focused their efforts on making the head table a focal piece in the room and left the guest tables fairly simple. It’s the best way to get the most ‘bang for your buck’ by ‘going big or going home’ at one focal piece.
Bonus! SkyFocus Films made a beautiful wedding video so you can see it all in action:
#tbt to working with Bri & Kevin on their big day at ARIA Mpls. And these are just images from the lobby at ARIA! The rustic interior, warm glow of the famous chandeliers and the soft fabric touches in the hugh soho couch along with the drapes and satin linens form Linen Effects makes it pure romantic perfection.
